Thanks for the info, I guess it's safe to say there is a large gap between a core solo 1.33ghz and the 1.6ghz atom... I can't understand why they would underclock the 950 chipset, it's performance is so low to being with, that's brutal I hope it's not the case.

The 1080i video I am looking to decode is basically mpeg2 encoded. Hopefully there will be some benchmarks soon...

The picture is right there.

And to the other poster, yeah, there's a huge difference between the Core/ Core 2 line and the Atom.

I'm curious to see how Via's Nano performs with HD video now that we've seen the Atom, should be interesting.

Yeah I think it was the Tegra I saw it on youtube too. They compared it to an intel chipset one or something and the Tegra ran it flawlessly while the intel stuttered almost slideshow-y

Lol i get confused with all these high performance low factor cpu, i bet they will cost a lot though, if they dont then it could be a revolution in processors. I would love to see them blow atom out of the water.

Me too... not that I hate intel or anything but from the specs it should be better than the Atom. First off it's an "out of order" cpu.... the Atom is an "in order" cpu like the Via C7-M *shivers*

If by traditional you mean something that has last been used in the original Pentium, then yes.

If the Wind had a graphics chipset that had HD decoding right on it everything would be perfect. Wind 2? 3?
