Default What can I do with an LG Axis VS740?

My mother-in-law purchased a cell phone, under contract, for her daughter, then screwed up the contract. To make a very long story short, my wife now has an LG Axis VS740 with no service. The provider was Cox Communications (also called Cox Wireless). Is there anything that can be done with this phone? (This phone is a CDMA phone, BTW)

My service provider is Virgin Mobile, which I am very happy with. I'd love to get this phone working with Virgin, but I doubt that is possible. Virgin is owned by Sprint, and Sprint won't let Virgin provide service to any phones outside of the pool of MSN's provided to Virgin.

So, are there any other pre-paid CDMA providers that I could use this phone with? I've heard good things about Boost mobile, and I have used Cricket in the past, but don't know if either of these allows "outside phones" to be used.
