I figured it you have to hold the power and home button it will take a picture keep holding it then it will eventually turn off allowing you to follow on from step 2 in the post with the 1st set of instructions.

does anyone know if there is a way for me to put my phone into DFU mode with my computer, because my lock/power button isnt working.

My iPod touch 3rd generation's touchscreen is not responding, so the first step of the dfu process can't be done because I can't turn the thing off (can't slide the red thing after holding the power key). I've read that another way of turning off the thing is by holding both buttons only until the screen goes black but if I do this when the ipod is plugged into the computer's usb port, the ipod doesn't turn off it just restarts, so I am effectively unable to turn off the ipod in order to put it in dfu mode. Any help? Im using a mac btw.
Also, haven't damaged the ipod, dropped it, wet it, etc. The touchscreen just randomly stopped working. |
