My MP3 players. Zune is the main one, iRiver for emergencies. The Sansa Clip is usually in the gym. Add in four or five more sets of headphones, mainly noise cancelling earbuds.

Zealot,
What are your impressions of the Zune? I'm comtemplating getting the Zune 80, but am a bit leary because of the marketplace software. Can you give me some thoughts, pro's, and con's? Thanks... JD |

Overall I have been extreamely happy with the Zune. I had avoided large storage PMPs ever since I had one of the original 30Gig Creative Zens lock up on me. I have been using this Zune for around 3 hours a day, every day for several months with no trouble....
PROS Excellent device interface, very clean and easy to use. Very simple, responsive controls. The touchpad works very very well for me. Superior sound quality. The best I have heard. Very good picture quality on video, at a good size. Excellent noise-cancelling headphones included. 80G size is big enough to hold a small country if need be. Something like 65 Kajillion songs. I have an entire season of Doctor Who, two kung fu movies and over 250 albums on mine and just cleared 25G. CONS Desktop software can be a major resource hog.I would love to see a light version. Syncing usually requires a couple tries to get everything if you have added a lot to your library. It has a tendency to go looking for new album covers during sync and switching them on you. It can make for funny surprises but did you really want to know that Tom Petty track was on the Home Alone III OST? No. No proper graphic equalizer. That's about it. If you are looking for a high capacity, top of the line MP 3 player, I can strongly recommend the Zune 80. I am sure you will be happy with it. Z

Thanks for you impressions...
Currently I have a 2 gb Clip, a 30GB ZV:M, an 8gb MicroPhoto, and a 12GB Treksor Vibez. All of them are filled, and I really could use the storage an 80GB player provides. Im not into iPods..(Detest iTunes), and the Archos and Cowon offerings are a bit pricey for me. So it looks as if the Zune 80 just may do the trick. Reviews are out there, but I like getting opinions from people who use items on a day to day basis.... Thanks again... |
